sense of what something is like
12) theme- the idea that an author is trying to convey in a story
13) onomatopoeia- when a word sounds like the actual action
14) oxymoron- when a word or a phrase contradicts itselfs (your fresher than
spoiled milk)
15) flashback- when a book moves back into the past to tell a story
16) protagonist- main character (good character)
17) antagonist- the character in the book that opposes the protagonist
18) epiphany- a moment of realization or clarity (when tom realizes that
daisy and gatsby like each other)
19) mood (tone)- general feeling one gets from the work or story (kind of
mood set in the piece)
20) motif- recurring objects or ideas (color green)
21) irony- when the exact opposite of what is expected occurs

A) internal- when the character is struggling with a decision or issue
